I am considering going to Argentina and hoping to teach English without experince. That or go back to Thailand, or somewhere else in Asia, as I love it but haven't been to to many places.
What do you think go back to where you have been and liked alot and see surrounding areas or go to S.A. and check it out ?

Re: Is Argentina still cheap and easy to live ?
Mon, October 6, 2008 - 7:53 AMI suggest you try something new. I went to Argentina last year and absolutely loved it. Its a definite destination for many reasons - but its a great place to stretch the dollar for North American travelers as well. I tell ya- you'll feel like a European on vacation in America if you head south.
For example- one of my first nights there I was on a date with an Argentinan friend and when the bill arrived- I was compelled to pay for the entire diner- simply because of how CHEAP it was. I believe the 2 meals were equivalent to 30 american dollars- I just couldn't believe it.
Besides the cheap factor there is so much to discover about the Latino culture and it varies from country to country as well. -

Re: Is Argentina still cheap and easy to live ?
Sat, December 27, 2008 - 9:20 PMI live in Argentina and I love it. Buenos Aires is a noisy ,a bit dangerous and little dirty, but beautiful !!! Also there is alot of political stuff all the time, like strikes ,etc. Teaching english ain't a new thing to do down here, there are alot of gringuitos trying that. It is still cheap compared to anywhere in the northern hemisphere. I'm from Chile and my country is very expensive.....just like the south of Brazil. The rest of south america is cheap........ except for the Guyanas and the places I've just mentioned. Buenos Aires is the place to be if you want to learn stuff and get inmersed in cultural things. I love Buenos Aires !!!! -

Sun, December 28, 2008 - 2:43 PMBuenos Aires is definitely a bit dangerous. I saw someone get mugged in broad daylight right in front of me. The smaller towns are safer. -

Sun, December 28, 2008 - 2:42 PMArgentina is very cheap if you're traveling on US dollars. Dinner for 3 at a restaurant was $25 -- including 2 liters of wine and the tip.... -

Re: Is Argentina still cheap and easy to live ?
Thu, January 29, 2009 - 7:38 PMThere are many affordable fully furnished apartments for rent in Argentina for around $500+ a month. And if you take some time to really dig into it like I did for Ecuador, you'll find a nice clean apartment fully furnished apartment that also serves breakfast and high speed internet free, and some even have maids that come by for $15, but I can clean up after myself.
I've not been to Argentina myself but it wont be long....
If you're really planning to stay there and get to know the country or city and like to write, you could also make a few bucks doing articles for travel magazines.
Good Luck!
