I was wondering if any one has experience with CHEAP lodging in Montreal? I will be their for six nights and will be going with my partner so we wanted some privacy. If any one has suggestions please share. Also we are not going for about two months so we have plenty of time to make reservations. Thanks.

Montreal in May or June...you are going to have a wonderful time. I don't know how much you want to pay...but if you have about 100 $ per night between the both of you I have a few suggestions. Two b&b's worth checking out are "La Loggia" on Amherst Street and "Alexandre Logan" on Alexandre de Seve Street. They are all in or very close to the gay village. Check the reviews on Tripadvisor.com . If you want to spend less there are other b&b's that are less expensive.
Some people don't know about the "Y des femmes". This YWCA is located in the downtown area on the corner of Cresent and Rene-Levesque. They have a hotel on the 7th floor (open to men and women). Nothing fancy but I think you could get a room for around 65 $.
There is also a youth hostel set-up on Amherst Street in the gay village called Alexandrie...I don't know much about it but the location is perfect and its really cheap. Private rooms are around 30 $.

It's a fairly new student residence that rents out studios during the summer months. It is located next door to the SAT (Société des arts technologiques) and the Monument National (National Theatre). The location is fantastic and it's not too expensive - around 65 $ Can. per night.
